Help kids connect across their differences, and belong when they can't be near each other.

If you really knew me, you would know that school was very challenging for me. Like many people, I struggled to fit in and feel safe at school, while my home life was being torn apart at the seams. And if you really, really knew me, you would know that some of those experiences followed me into adulthood and made it difficult for me to have a fun and happy life. And if you really, really, really knew me, you would know that after doing some healing and working on myself, I found an amazing organization called Soul Shoppe, which gave me the opportunity to help other young people who struggle with similar challenges. The 15 years I spent facilitating social-emotional learning programs with Soul Shoppe were some of the most rewarding years of my life. This program not only makes a difference, it saves lives.

I believe the world needs Soul Shoppe now more than ever. As a parent of a 4th grader, I can testify that the pandemic has caused feelings of isolation, loneliness, anger, and fear in young people. I am so pleased to know that despite a moratorium on in-person lessons, Soul Shoppe continues to provide much-needed support to our children.
